he was born in a cave
the marble museum made a funny grave
he was put on display
shelves full of relics from the Teen Age
in a world overflowing with yesterdays
the ancient masons crafted sound
they poured the concrete in this town
the gods you worship were just dudes he used to know
they walked these streets in leather robes
without a stage they built their own
submitted demos via phone
they were a family but they went solo alone
and reunited on the road
as i reflect upon the lite beer mirror
how the now became so clearly here
how the years have made the weird appear
and history profound
these are the artifacts they found
